Best Music for La Sallian Students

MUSIC

Music keeps everyone going on a very stressful and tiring day. So as well with the lasallians who experience a lot of stress from school works and the like. Hence, music doesn’t only serve as a pick-me-upper but as a freedom of expression too. Lasallians are not only divided when it comes to fashion but with music as well . Out of all the genres of music namely pop, techno, reggae, bossa nova, emo, punk, electro, opm, and rnb only three of them dominated the DLSU-D and they are:

RnB

RnB or Rhythm and blues, this genre of music really captures the hearts of most of the lasallians because of the subtle and slightly upbeat sound matched with meaningful and love story type of lyrics that would really make them sing and dance at the same time. Top faves are Akon, Rihanna, Chris Brown and etc.

Pop

Music, too is a favorite among the lasallians for pop music targets the interests of the youth today. I doesn’t only covers love story but it also varies from rock n’ roll, punk where it originated.

Top faves leigh nash, Leona lewis, and other pop artists.

OPM

OPM or Original Pinoy Music, definitely would be a part of every lasallians iPod’s aside from the fact the we are Filipinos but it is because our music is something that we could really be proud of. OPM music varies from rock, punk, emo, reggae and bossa nova, ballads that truly captures the ears of every lasallians. Top picks are Eraserheads, Sandwhich, Sitti Navarro and other pinoy favorites.

Best Outfit During Wash Day

FASHION
Lasallians are not only inclined to academics and sports but we also had a flair with fashion. Aside from it dressing up is the easiest way to express one’s self. That’s why during Wednesdays or “WASH DAYS” (wherein students get to wash their school uniform and wear civilian clothes) fashionistas are born. It’s like there is always a fashion show to date. Though lasallians are divided when it comes to dressing up and here are the lists (YOU MIGHT FALL WITH THESE CATEGORIES)

TRENDOPHILES:
They always wear what is fashionable in the eyes of our fellow students (mostly from CLA) and pulling it of really really well. It’s either fresh from the magazines or the runway. Outfit kung outfit!

LOVE KO LA SALLE:
I mean, they are the ones who’d always (yes, ALWAYS) wear La Salle shirts, jackets and etc. Animo La Salle!

I LOVE MY COURSE TO DEATH!:
Students who wear their college shirts because they are so proud on whatever course they’re in. right?

MR. & MISS PLAIN JOE & JANE:
SIMPLICITY IS THE BEST POLICY. The COMMONERS who just wanted to feel comfortable inside the campus and room by just wearing a simple top, shirt and jeans combo w/ flats or chucks and voila! They’re good to go.

THE GENSHIKENS!!!:
ANIMES!!! Yes they are. They don’t care what their fellow students will say FOR AS LONG AS THEY COULD EXPRESS WHAT THEIR HEARTS DESIRES..

"EMO"-TEROS:
this trend is very common for the boys who sports semi-anime hairstyle wherein you would wonder who they are for their bangs literally covers their entire face! For the emoteras, deep black eyeliner is a must have to attain the loooooook. And they’re always in black.

SOON 2 BE CEO's:
management students who always wear corporate attires during Monday’s and Friday’s. For the chicas they always opted for a sleek and sophisticated look wherein they always favor high-waisted skirt/pants over a polo shirt/blouse. While boys as usual in their black slacks and longsleeves..hmmm…Tropical Country+LONGSLEEVES=heat stroke!

But there are certain LIMITATIONS to follow regarding dressing up on washdays and summer classes according to our students’ handbook. Here are the following restrictions:

All kinds of shorts and torn/worn out jeans:

Spaghetti straps, razor backs, tube tops:

Blouses and dresses with plunging neckline/backless:

Midriffs, hanging blouses, off shoulder blouses and dresses:

Mini/micro-mini skirts (more than 2 inches above the knee):
Rubber slippers, worn out shoes:

Body hugging blouses and skirts/pants:

Body hugging blouses and skirts/pants:

See-through attires:

YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW THE DRESS CODE OR ELSE:
- Your id will be confiscated by SWAFO (Student Welfare and Formation Office). Tsktsktsktsk..

Some our obliging it religiously and some just don’t. Unlike in DLSU- Manila and DLS-CSB, THERE ARE NO RULES REGARDING THE WAY THE STUDENTS DRESS UP INSIDE THE UNIVERSITY. UNFAIR! Right?!..Haha! Kidding aside, if you look at the brighter side of it, it reminds us on what is the real purpose why we are inside the University. It is what? To study. You don’t want (especially for the LADIES) your blockmate/s to ogle on whatever you’re wearing right? It tends to feel sooooo UNCOMFORTABLE. You don’t even want your guy profs to stare at you in a different manner don’t you? Though having wash days also give a notion to some students to have new outfits every wednesdays. Bet they don’t want to repeat the same outfits they had again…again..and again.. Why not? What’s wrong with repeating a shirt, jeans and etc? Be creative instead. Mix and Match is the key!

NOTA BENE:
FASHION CAN BE BOUGHT, BUT STYLE NEVER COMES WITH A PRICE TAG AND IT‘S WHO YOU REALLY ARE THAT COUNTS AND NOT WHAT YOU WEAR. Intiendes?!

Best PE Subject

Majority of the student that were being asked about “What is the Best PE Subject?” choose swimming as their favourite subject for their PE. Most of the students are from College of Science where they are in their 3rd or 4th year time. Personally, I also choose swimming as my favourite subject out of the bunch because somehow after a tiring moment inside the very hot class, most of student find it refreshing enough for them to enjoy time during school day. On the other hand, other sports require us to be all sweating our cloth and it makes some of the student more exhausted then before start of class; the fact that any kind of PE subject is good for our body is still apply, because however with PE subject it makes our body to move and express our self in other way not just our brain. . .
